WHAT IS BOTANEA AND WHO WILL BE WELCOMING YOU
Botanea is a Guest House 15km northeast of Rome.
The project was first thought in Berlin in 2017 from us, Elisa and Adriano, two Italians living in the city for 10 years.
After a few years of background work in one of the most exciting European cities, discovery/inspirational trips and some time spent outlining vision and goals of the project, Rome was our next destination.
The opportunity came when we decided to renovate the basement of an existing villa close to Rome. The whole property lies on a very big garden with oak trees, olive trees and a lot of other beautiful plants in a florid Mediterranean greenery.
The decision was easy. Let’s host people here, organise yoga and meditation retreats, crafty workshops and more fun stuff. Just the location alone was to fall in love with.
Fast forward to October 2019: Botanea is finally open and we are ready to write our story together with our guests!

What does Botanea mean?
It is a mix of 3 main ingredients:
BOTAN - Botany, our love and curiosity for plants and green species.
EA - Elisa and Adriano, simply the two of us.
Who are we?

Elisa: 39, originally from Tuscany, digital marketing, succulent lover, pottery enthusiast. I lived and studied in the South of Germany for one year, I travelled and worked in Australia for another year, then Berlin became my home. Worked as Email Marketing Manager for e-commerce websites focused on handmade items and marketplaces for independent artists and makers. In 2018 I moved to Rome to start this exciting project.
Adriano: 38, marketing and business communication, restaurant service experience, owns a Vespa, builds things with wood. Grew up in Rome, lived in Berlin for 10 years. In need of a garage for his Vespa and a workshop to collect and work with wood, he decided that Berlin wasn't the right place anymore and in 2017 moved back to Rome to open Botanea.
